Now I'm back to school, Year 11, and this little number is a product of my first art assignment of the year. The theme was 'Loss' and you could interpret it in any way. I went with a more humourous path, rather than a completely angsty path, but I think there's a mix of joy and sadness in there. Like life, I guess.

Done with prismacolors, A4 size, no single reference (just a bunch of old man faces).

I know there is something wrong with the hands but I couldn't do much, having to squish them into the page at weird at impossible angles.
Oh well. Many people have said that they work with the image, so thank you!

I think I will be using a similar theme of dementia and memory loss for my Yr 12 Body of Work.
We'll see.

This is amazing. The colors and the textures are rich and eye-catching. While overall a sad picture, there is just enough of a whimsical element to make me smile. Excellent!

Oh, and considering how age can affect bones and joints, I don't find the hands to be awkward at all. It adds another layer to the image and what this man is going through.

It's perfect. Don't we all have days where the World seems too big and crowding in on us. You really do feel like you are losing your "marbles."
My mom used to say, "I'd lose my head if it wasn't screwed on right." =P
