Did this one a couple of days ago too. In my new moleskine. Just pencil and acrylic mixed with acrylic medium to make it sort of like watercolour. It's nice, so the pencil shows through, ;D

This is really great! It reminds me of the children's book Babar, but, a much more "updated" Babar, in the study, going to Harvard =P

this is all kinds of wonderful. never would have guessed you used acrylics, was it easier than using watercolour paints or..?

;D Thank you so much! Yeah I actually use acrylics in a similar way to watercolours! In this I added 'acrylic medium' which adds a transparent liquid to dilute the pigment and also extend drying time by a tiiiny bit. So it works in a similar way to watercolour, as the paper can still show through. I suppose it's much the same, but yes i think acrylic is a little easier as it's more controllable. Watercolour is good sometimes because it's unpredictable, but yeah I feel I can control acrylic better, plus I find it doesn't warp the paper as much. ANYWAY. Ramble. Hope this answered your question somehow! :P

Also eee your gallery is amazing. Thank you for watching, I watched back!

coolstuff, i was just interested why you would use a material only to make it look like another one haha. i might try it some time - watercolours can get a bit messy, especially in moleskines :)
you're welcome! i lovelovelove your style. <3

Haha yeah legitimate question, honestly it was probably just experimentation. I used it here too: [link] I think it's good if you want the lead pencil to show through, plus yeah acrylics/medium definitely don't crinkle the paper as much as watercolours, but ultimately it is similar. Argh I really want one of those specific watercolour moleskines, they look so pretty. One day.

Your style is great too <3

Thanks Thanoja! It wasn't actually, though wow, I can see how you would think that! I didn't even make the connection! I have two Ganesha statues in my room, I've always wanted to draw him! Maybe I will :P

Good luck with your results tomorrow too by the way. Feeling nervous?

Aahhhh...I scared for tomorrow...(>.<)I wanted to look at my results the day the ATAR comes out so I could just face everything at the same time, rather than waiting a whole day for the ATAR...but my parents are too insisting on finding out the marks tomorrow....orz

Lol that's ok (I'm in Sri Lanka, atm). XD I~~~'ve applied for a combined degree of Bachelor of Science (majoring in astronomy and astrophysics) and Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies ( majoring in Japanese) at ANU. How 'bout you? XD

Oh woah you're in Sri Lanka! How is it? ;O

And woah that's so cool, you've always wanted to do astronomy! Naw! I like when people actually achieve their childhood ambitions :3

As for me, welllll, I'm doing a B Arts (Adv Honours) which is basically just an arts degree, but I skip first year so I can get my honours in 3 years instead of 4. And I'm going to major in English and Philosophy. Oh, at USyd. I'm moving out of home in 6 weeks, how scary! Are you going to move to Canberra? Will your parentals go with you?

Wow, that's amazing~!!! I also wanted to do an an advanced degree in science (at ANU) but apparently you can't do combined degrees if you want to do advanced science, so I have no option but to stick with the normal B of Science degree and maintain distinction, in order to be able to do honours in my final year. DX Ah well, either way, I would have to maintain a distinction anyway so it's fine, I guess.

I'll be moving out too, actually. My parents can't follow me to Canberra 'cos of their jobs so, for the first time, I'll actually be living alone. I still need to learn properly about cooking though.LOL.

I love this so much I don't have the words to say! I really love your style and the way you have used the paint and pencils, so that the roughness of the pencil shows through! He is so wonderful! He reminds me of the dog-people that used to be on Sesame Street when I was little ;)

P.s Where did you get your moleskin?

Awh, wow :cuddle: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a comment. I have no words to expressmy thanks! :rose:

The moleskine's sold at shops near me are really expensive, so I bought mine online at thebookdepository.co.uk
I never buy a full priced book anymore, because they are so cheap there, and they sell diaries and things too, all with free shipping! It was $18, compared to the $33 that I would have paid otherwise. You should get one, I know a lot of people say they're overrated, but the creamy/yellowy paper is just really lovely to draw on, and automatically makes things look better. And the rounded corners. ;D

I think I am in love with that site! Thankyou for sharing it!
The only time I have ever found a moleskin sketchbook was at the airport, it was tiny and like $16; I guessed it was overpriced because it was at an airport ;p But I shall order one from that site after christmas! :D I really love the look of them - I especially like how you can draw across two pages :P
